In 2016 the Australian Computer Society (ACS) will celebrate our 50th year as Australia's
association for ICT professionals. Throughout the year a number of initiatives, activities
and events will look to recognise and celebrate our past, showcase the present and give
inspiration as we look towards the future and the next 50 years.
In preparation for the festivities, the 50th Year Celebrations Committee has been
established to coordinate and assist with the planning for these celebrations. Michael
Hawkins, ACT Branch Executive Committee representative, past ACT Branch
Chair and Congressional representative, has been appointed as Chair of the 50th Year
Michael is keen to hear from ACS Members and is interested in your ideas on how the
ACS could celebrate our achievements and contribution to the ICT landscape in Australia.
Michael is also interested in receiving any material, content, images or stories you may
have to share.
Michael can be contacted at firstname.lastname@example.org or via the ACS Canberra Branch
on (02) 6143 5503.
Help us recognise the achievements and history of the ACS. Be involved in contributing to
the ongoing success of the ACS for our Members and the ICT community.
